Garry Cherricks, a Maryland native is doing appearances and
shows looking like The Lone Ranger with his white horse named
Silver.
With the help of this Lone Ranger look-alike personality, the spirit
and legend of The Lone Ranger and his white horse Silver are still
remembered.
I do not promote my real name and if anyone should ask I tell them
John Reid, which was the character name for the TV Lone Ranger.
My personal identity is not important. It is the legacy of The Lone
Ranger that is important to me and those who grew up with him in
the 50's and the newer generation of young westerners.
I believe that everyone has within themselves the power to help
make this a better world and I want to convey to our children that
nowhere in the pages of history can one find a greater champion of
justice, than The Lone Ranger.
(Continued below)

When I see a really loyal Lone Ranger fan, I call them over to me and give them a Silver Bullet. Their expression of joy
and surprise is priceless. Every where I go people are always grabbing their cameras and cell phones to take pictures
of me and Silver. I always try to give special attention to any man, woman or child that is handicapped. It is really heart
warming and a real pleasure for me to brighten up their day and see them smile.
At every event we allow pictures. If someone wants a picture and does not have a camera my assistant will take the
picture and print it for them right on the spot. For this we do ask for a small donation.
It has taken a lot of work to get everything together. Boots, silver guns, holster, gun belt, scarf, hat, gloves and the
silver bullets have all been specially made for authenticity.
Locating my white horse Silver was quite a challenge. He is 17 hands tall and is a gated horse. The silver saddle,
serapes, breast collar, bridle, and tapaderas were made by the well know saddle maker, Ted Flowers in 1959. It took a
year to get Silver outfitted.
Flowers made some of saddles for the famous cowboys in the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s. Not many of these original silver
saddles are around today from the cowboy era. They are very valuable and highly sought after by collectors. Only
about 400 of them are around today. I am very fortunate to have located one of his saddles. It has been ridden in the
Roses’ Parades and Hollywood Christmas Parades in California.
To the children or the younger generation I promote gun safety, and tell them The Lone Ranger does not shoot to kill,
use profanity, drink alcohol, use drugs or smoke. I explain how the Ranger was once a Texas Ranger and was found
by Tonto, an Indian, after being wounded in an ambush and then became The Lone Ranger.
At events and festivals where space is available I ride Silver shooting silver bullets at balloons. My assistant will also
flip coins in the air for me to shoot. These coins with a hole in them are souvenirs for the fans.
One of the most asked questions I get is, where is Tonto. Since no one has come forward wanting to join me and
appear like Tonto, my reply is that Tonto is on assignment in either Tombstone, Arizona or in Del Rio, Texas.
Clayton Moore, the real Lone Ranger passed away December 28, 1999, but left us with the legacy of a lawman that
always shot to wound, not to kill, and never sought personal rewards for his good deeds.
Silver and I are available to appear anywhere in the USA, for birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, holiday parties,
business promotions, charity events, nursing homes, schools, State and County festivals, parades, videos and any
other honorable events.
This is a non-profit cowboy organization. There are no set fees for us to appear at events. However we do ask for
donations to cover expenses for myself, assistants and Silver. I will make appearances upon request without Silver.
To arrange having us at events, with or without Silver or discuss our show in more detail contact my event associate,
Tex Holland. He can be reached at 410-677-4972 or by email at LoneRanger@ce.net You can also go to our web

See Reid in action as the Lone Ranger. Quick Time
My adventure began when I drove from my home in Maryland to Oatman / Kingman, Arizona. While there I became
revived in spirit with the old days of yesteryear Cowboys.
I have been making appearances in parades, private parties, business events, small town festivals, County and State
fairs and in donated commercials dressed like The Lone Ranger with my white horse Silver.
To my knowledge I am the only look-alike Lone Ranger personality with a white horse. This makes my shows and
parades very unique. We also have a nice black and white horse trailer lettered with Silver’s name and a sound system
on top so we can play the William Tell Overature. It also doubles as my speaker system at events so the crowds
can hear my presentation.
I am a member of The Lone Ranger Fan Club and hope that every Lone Ranger enthusiast will join. This is a great
organization and the Silver Bullet newsletter always has a lot of interesting information. It was from The Lone Ranger
fan club web site that I found special people across the Country to help me assemble an authentic costume like the
one Clayton Moore use to wear.
(Continued below)
I let everyone know that I am not the real Lone Ranger. No one could ever be The Lone Ranger like Clayton Moore.
He was a great man that lived by the code of The Lone Ranger even in his personal life. I do this to help people
remember the good ol’ cowboy days of yesteryear and as a tribute to Clayton Moore.
People are always coming up to me and saying, “you were my hero when I was growing up”. I say “thank you” to them
and ask that they always keep Clayton Moore and The Lone Range spirit in their hearts.
When the young kids see me they immediately want to pet my horse Silver. Then they ask their parent, who is the man
with the mask? I then tell the parent that they have some explaining to do tonight about The Lone Ranger.
I have met a lot of nice people. Women of all ages come up and give me hugs. Men tell me about how they enjoyed
The Lone Ranger when they were little, and some tell me about their experience of actually meeting Clayton Moore.
Most of all I am surprised at the amount of kids that tell me they have seen The Lone Ranger on the western TV
channels. Some will even try to dress like The Lone Ranger when they know I am coming to their town.

From out of the past come
the thundering hoofbeats of
