The cross at Groom, Texas
The largest cross in the Western Hemisphere is located in Groom, Texas, in the
Texas Panhandle, just east of Amarillo on Interstate 40. The 190-foot cross is
impressive, but equally inspiring are the statues depicting the stations of the cross
that circle it. In addition, to the stations of the cross, there is a touching monument
to the victims of abortion, a statue of the 10 Commandments (with the Beatitudes
on the reverse side), and a gift shop. It is something every Christian should try to
see at least once in their lives. Below are pictures we took while there on March 1,
