Lone Ranger #14

The Lone Ranger, now dressed in the powder
blue outfit, rides with Tonto and Sheriff Loring
back to the bloody cabin. Tonto interprets the
signs of the struggle. Meanwhile, Dan Reid Jr. has
another nightmare of Cavendish, but chases it
away with a silver bullet. The next day the trio ride
into town where they meet with another sheriff who
explains that he wants "this thing gone." He has
the Lone Ranger and Tonto wait in a saloon while
he finds the doctor to show them the bodies of the
murdered women. The Ranger makes many
friends when he buys the house a round, but
doesn't partake himself.
The doctor explains that the women bled to death. Next the trio visit the durviving
daughter of one of the victims, who is catatonic. The Ranger voews to her that he
will find whoever is responsible. As the three men say goodbye to the sheriff and
doc, Cavendish is shaking hands with Winthrop. The Lone Ranger and Tonto ride
off into the night after the killer, while Cavendish rides in a stagecoach on his own
pursuit.
Lone Ranger #15

The Lone Ranger and Tonto confront the doctor,
accusing him of killing the women. As they make
their case, the two sheriffs come in behind them.
The doctor throws acid in Tonto's face and
escapes. The Lone Ranger remedies Tonto's
wound with a base mixture. Meanwhile citizens in
the street, aware of what the Lone Ranger
discovered about the doc, capture him. The Lone
Ranger injects the little girl and revives her. He
and Tonto then head back home while the sheriffs
leave with the doc. The Ranger and Tonto return
home to Linda and Dan while the two sheriffs stop
in the middle of the desert and kill the doctor,
blaming his death on an attempted escape. Meanwhile, a stagecoach arrives at a
blacksmith shop where Cavendish places an "order" at gunpoint.
Lone Ranger #16

A stagecoach pulls up to a house. Cavendish gets out and ask if he's the
sheriff. He says yes and Cavendish pulls out his gun and kills him. He returns
to the coach and goes on to a church. He goes in to have confession. He tells
the priest about killing the sheriff and about his past. He tells about "the twins,"
politics, being a bully, being beat by his alcoholic father, a life of boozing and
fast women, and killing his father. He pulls out the his gun and shoots the
priest, only to find there isn't one there. As he walks out, Jesus on the cross
appears to look at him with anger.
Lone Ranger and Tonto #2

A cowboy rides into Reston at night, singing a song. He is shot down. The next
day, the Lone Ranger and Tonto arrive at Terlingua to get supplies. In the
store, the storekeeper's daughter tells them of monsters and starts singing the
same song as the cowboy. The Lone Ranger and Tonto leave but stop at a
mansion outside of town for more information about the mystery. The man tells
them about reports of monsters at Reston and about an abandoned mine. The
Ranger and Tonto leave for Restin and arrive to find it empty. They camp in
town and that night the Ranger awakes and hallucinates Tonto as a monster. In
the meantime, the man sends a henchman to hunt down the Ranger and
Tonto. The next day the Lone Ranger figures out that they were feeling the
effects of mercury poisoning. Outside of town they clean up and cover their
faces with bandanas and return. Inside the mine they find men playing cards.
The men attack and the two defeat them. The Lone Ranger finds a card and
learns the mine is owned by the rich man. The henchman arrives and is
rescued from the effects of mercury by the Ranger. They then return to the rich
man, Eli, and wake him. The man dies of fright, imagining the Lone Ranger and
Tonto as monsters.
Lone Ranger #17

This issue begins a new story arc. It starts with the Lone Ranger leaping off a
building onto Silver's back. They chase after a stagecoach with is being run by
bandits. Tonto is in their path, leaps aboard and begins the attack. The Lone
Ranger comes up from behind, shoots a gun out of an outlaw's hand, shoots
the horse hitch, and climbs aboard the runaway coach. After tossing out the
outlaws, the Lone Ranger and Tonto bring the stagecoach to a stop just at the
edge of a cliff.
Meanwhile, Butch Cavendish is in a saloon, having killed everyone except
for a man promising to give him all his money and a henchman who comes in
carrying a leather pouch. Next, Sheriff Don Loring is pouring himself a drink
when Winston Marle, an agent from Austin, comes in and introduces himself.
He asks for Loring help to "bring the body in." Next, the stage is returned to
town, money in tact and outlaws tied up. The Lone Ranger and Tonto return to
a ranch where the Lone Ranger pays an elderly woman for damage to her
fence from the coach.
The return home to Linda and Dan, have supper. Afterward, the Ranger
goes out into the night for some air and Linda comes to him. The begin to talk
about their relationship when Dan interrupts to tell them there is a man at the
door who wants to see the Lone Ranger. The Ranger draws his gun and tells
Linda to take Dan and go.
